This role reports to the Construction Managers. Construction volunteers are the backbone of Habitat. Without their help, we would not be able to sell our homes at affordable prices. Construction volunteers are out on the job site doing hands-on work alongside construction staff and homeowners.
Individual volunteers commit to volunteer at least 4 hours one time during a 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. shift. Volunteers who are interested in volunteering on the construction site should register at habitatpeoria.volunteerhub.com and look for available opportunities open to the public.
We supply all the tools and materials for the day, including safety glasses and hard hats. No construction experience is necessary--we have trained staff to teach you everything you need to know. Construction volunteers must be 16 years or older. Those who are under 18 must have a parent's permission on a special youth waiver. Volunteers will meet at the predetermined address and receive a brief morning orientation and safety talk before getting to work.
