Faith Support

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry, so our principles are rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Because we have received God’s love, grace, and mercy, we’re enabled to share that same love with others. We believe that God intended for us to care for and serve one another; for in Jesus we were reconciled to God and given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18). Over and over, the Bible emphasizes God’s solidarity with people who are poor, oppressed, and marginalized. God calls us to live as Jesus lived.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Peoria Area believes in creating opportunities for spiritual growth. We stress education, prayer, and worship to help strengthen our ministry and our Christian foundations. We partner with many local churches. Some feel compelled to donate monetarily to support a home build, others provide enthusiastic volunteers who are ready to serve the Lord and do His work here on earth. Either way, we are so happy and blessed to have their help as we could not do all that we do without them!

We match every one of our partner families up with a church “Faith Supporter.” This church adopts the family and walks with them as they go through our program. This extra bit of support may be unfamiliar to some of our families, so it is an extra way to show them the love of God. If your church is interested in becoming a Faith Supporter to a Habitat homeowner, please Contact Us.
