My name is Shundra Parker and I was born to a loving family and raised in Peoria. I attended Manual High School before going to college at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. I studied speech communication and I am currently finishing up my master's program in Mental Health Counseling. Presently, I am an administrator for a statewide nonprofit agency called TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities). My TASC location in Peoria houses four programs that target at-risk populations for case management services such as drug addicts, the mentally ill, high-risk pregnancies, developmentally delayed infants, and abused children. I do very important work every day with the community and a special group of individuals to help save people's lives.
The Lord blessed me with three wonderful children that have more energy than I could ever imagine. I have a five-year-old daughter, a two-year-old son, and a 10-month-old baby girl. I spend my free time cooking for my family and doing science experiments with my children. I love Peoria's weather and taking long walks with my siblings. I believe prayer and laughter are fundamental to life, and the best vacations are taken getting lost in a good book. I hope to be a part of the Habitat family for years to come.back
