Brittney Chalk is a mother of twin girls and she is a proud, "Habitat Baby". She developed an appreciation and respect for Habitat at early in her life, having grown up in a Habitat home herself. That is something she carries proudly today. Brittney is bright, personable, well-spoken, and presents herself well. She works as a bus driver for both CityLift and Peoria Public School and has been doing so for seven years. She says it is normal for her to have two jobs, however she would like to move up to a dispatch supervisor if she could secure summer employment to supplement while school is out. Brittney’s long-term goal is to become a school teacher. Brittney is a Peoria native with a very supportive family base. She volunteers at the twins’ school and is active in her church. She is a very hard worker with the desire and willingness to help others. Brittney enjoys immensely spending time with her family and reading with and to her daughters.
Brittney is thankful to Habitat for Humanity Greater Peoria Area for this amazing opportunity to bless her to become a homeowner. She is so very grateful to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for partnering with her through her journey with Habitat. She looks forward to meeting and volunteering side by side with everyone and looks forward to working with Catholic Holy Family Society in September. She's so happy that God is blessing her and allowing her dreams to become her reality. Brittney looks forward to making her Habitat home her permanent family home so her daughters will have something to look forward to and count on. She wants to teach them how to become homeowners one day as well. Seeing her mother become a Habitat homeowner motivated her, and she would love to pass that on to her daughters. Brittney loves the location in which the home will be built she's excited that her daughters will have the opportunity to have a great neighborhood in which to grow. She is so honored for this opportunity. Thank you.back
