Construction Site Leader

The construction site leader would be working alongside our main construction leader to help build about 8 homes within a fiscal year. This is a full time position.
Extensive home building construction knowledge and experience (preferably 1-2 years minimum)
Candidates must be able to work some Saturdays in addition to weekdays
Must be comfortable leading a group of 12+ volunteers
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be on your feet for hours at a time
Must have a committed attitude and have great communication skills
Able to lead alone if asked

Job summary/Duties: This is not your average internship. We ask our interns to think outside the box and incorporate new ideas to help engage the Peoria community. We also wear many hats which means there is never a dull moment. Take a look at what some of your responsibilities might include:
•Responsible for updating the Habitat Peoria’s website and social media keeping information current and relevant
•Effectively schedule volunteers and groups to meet the needs of construction staff
•Oversee food, staging and related logistics for builds, groundbreakings, wall raising and dedications events.
•Ensure that volunteer liability waivers are signed and filed
•Work with staff to handle any volunteer concerns or issues
• Reliable access to a car
• Committed attitude and willing to jump in enthusiastically when needed
• Basic understanding what Habitat for Humanity does
Work Schedule: During the summer you will be asked to work approximately 30 hours per week that include many Saturdays. If asked to stay for the following school year, it would become a part-time position and we would only ask for about 10-12 hours per week.
